A Roller Skater in a church, making his rounds through the hall, questioning the connection between sacred spaces and architecture through the sound he/she creates in the room.
With 4 microphones standing in the middle and pointing into the four corners of the hall of the Trinitatis Church in Cologne, I tried to capture the acoustic traces of the roller skater.
Listening through wireless headphones, the audience can experience the position of the skater and the movement through the church. A space is constructed by the sound and its reflections on the architecture. What can we experience when we hear a room? What makes a room and how does it become sacred?
